about Heike Maier Diplom Designerin | Creative Director
After finishing school in 1995 Heike Maier started her studies of sculpture and painting at the Freie Kunstschule in Stuttgart/Germany. She ended her art studies early in order to join HFG Schwäbisch Gmünd/Germany for academic studies of visual design, which she completed 2001 as a Diplom Designerin.
The desire to broaden her knowledge with theoretical aspects, Heike Maier fulfilled by entering the studies of philosophy and art- and media science for a brief period. Shortly after, she started her professional career and joined Meyer-Hayoz Design Engineering Group in Konstanz/Germany a graphic designer.
Five years after, it was about time for a professional advancement and Heike Maier found a new exciting challenge at spitzar – strategische kommunikation, an agency today based in Dornbirn/Austria. As spitzar’s art director she managed and created multiple extensive design concepts for clients like Lufthansa, the German airline, or the Bregenzer Festspiele, an opera festival at Europe’s largest stage on a lake.
After two years as art director with the design agency in Vorarlberg/Austria Heike Maier became managing and creative director at swissbranding GmbH, a subsidiary of brandbuilding agency Visualis near Basel/Switzerland. She managed swissbranding and had clients like Aigner, Police and French Connection.
